LET IT SHINE THROUGH (Poem)

LET IT SHINE THROUGH

By Farah Lawal Harris, 2025

Sis, your soul glow like Darryl. On God.

And how you make it look easy? It’s hard.

When the world burns, they expect us to cook.

We are worth more than our skills and our looks.

Sis, our soul glow like Darryl. We shine.

We drink from the Fountain of Youth. We fine.

And when we are not, we got each other.

Sister, Auntie, cousin, bestie, mother.

We are meant to live in community.

We are so much stronger in unity.
