PATTY CAKE, PATTY CAKE, DOCTOR MAN

Much peace. For Day 7 of National Poetry Writing Month, the prompt is:

Today, we challenge you to write your own poem that emulates these songs – something to snap, clap, and jump around to.

Here is my poem:

PATTY CAKE, PATTY CAKE, DOCTOR MAN

By Farah Lawal Harris, 2026

Patty cake, patty cake,

Doctor Man,

bake me a butt as

fast as you can!

Lift it, enhance it,

and mark it with a B!

When I look in the mirror,

I’ll love what I see!

Patty cake, patty cake,

Doctor Man,

bake me some breasts as

fast as you can!

Lift them, enhance them,

and make them perky!

When I look in the mirror,

I’ll love what I see!

Patty cake, patty cake,

Doctor Man,

bake me a face as

fast as you can!

Inject it and fill it,

and make the lines cease!

When I look in the mirror,

I’ll love what I see!

Patty cake, patty cake,

Doctor Man,

you took all my dough

as fast as you can!

I saved it, then spent it

to get more beauty,

so please tell me why

I’m still not happy!
